  • Advert Text This is an exciting time to join the Faculty of Higher Education, with successful partnerships with world-class higher education institutions comprising the University of East Anglia, University of the Arts London and The Open University, as well as the outgoing University of Essex (which is in ‘teach-out’ mode). The Faculty has direct quality and operational oversight of 20 undergraduate degrees, with aspirations to grow the portfolio over the coming five years; the College is registered with the Office for Students (OfS), has an Access and Participation Plan in place and achieved a Bronze award for TEF earlier this year, working towards a Silver award. The Head of Higher Education Strategic Quality and Outcomes is a challenging role requiring a proven track record in adopting a data-led approach to researching, designing and successfully drafting institutional level strategic documents, including the OfS submission for registration (and associated updates), the Access and Participation Plan 2020/21 to 2024/25, TEF submission(s), institutional annual monitoring and review documents for validating partners at undergraduate level and other higher education strategies. The role currently has no direct line management responsibility but reports directly to the Dean of Higher Education and so requires the successful applicant to be able to work independently, as part of a team and be influential as an agent of change for institutional level quality assurance that positively impacts on student outcomes. They will also be required to lead on implementation of the Access and Participation Plan (APP) 2020/21 to 2024/25, associated reporting and updates, use a range of OfS, TEF and APP metrics and indicators accordingly to inform, monitor and review the outcomes across the student lifecycle and associated strategies, be the primary quality assurance contact with the OfS, validating partners and possess highly developed data-analysis, negotiation, communication and drafting skills. To be successful in this role you will have: Experience and knowledge of the Higher Education sector within the UK. Practical application of QAA HER, QAA QRV, or equivalent, OFS APR, TEF 4/5 and ESG 2015. Experience of working effectively to deliver results for multiple stakeholders, along with diplomacy and engaging leadership skills. Experience of curriculum development and validation with HE Partners. Knowledge of Access and Participation plans and implementation. Ability to analyse and understand data and translate into relevant reports. Has impeccable communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire staff to meet or exceed the expectations for the College and our students. Be people orientated, visible, transparent and can interpret and work with complex frameworks, standards and regulations and convert into realistic workable processes. The role also requires well-developed people and performance management skills, a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET (DTLLS), or Masters in Education along with a degree or relevant management qualification, ideally with a qualify focus.
