    • HE Peer Mentor (current SEC HE students only)

    • What is the role of a Peer Mentor? As a Peer Mentor, you will share your knowledge with first year degree students about the opportunities, services and resources available within the College. We are looking for three types of mentors: Study Mentor to focus on study skills and organisation, a Listening Ear Mentor to support those students who need someone to speak to and a Learning Technology Mentor who will assist with all technology queries in and outside the classroom. Who can apply to be a peer mentor? Applicants need to be studying a HE degree course and progressing into their 2nd or 3rd year. How are sessions run? Mentors will arrange 1-2-1 sessions with their assigned mentees. Will I receive training? Yes. Mentors will receive full training in preparation for their new role.     • HE Operations Assistant

    • The Higher Education team at South Essex College is responsible for the delivery of high quality service which supports all aspects of the undergraduate experience and supports internal and external stakeholders. The role holder will ensure a high quality service to our stakeholders from first level enquiry through to enrolment and will be responsible for supporting the College’s Higher Education Strategy.     • Teaching and Learning Manager

    • The Teaching and Learning Manager will be an exemplar of good practice in learning and teaching and provide mentor support for new staff or staff who require support, guidance or advice. The person appointed will be confident to lead on the improvement of learning and teaching across all levels and types of provision. A key aspect of the role will be to implement the strategic priorities as a result of the recent Ofsted inspection. This includes being the lead on Initial Teacher Education, liaising with partner HEI’s and representing the College at meetings associated with this provision.     • Work Placement Assessor - Early Years (37 hours per week; 37 weeks per year

    • We are looking for an experienced Early Years assessor to assess learners in the workplace within CACHE standards at all levels. You will need excellent organisational, administrative and IT skills and have the ability to work across College sites and assess at learner workplaces. The post-holder will be required to organise learner visits, offer guidance to learners in completing portfolios and maintain positive relationships with placement providers. The post-holder will need to hold a clean driving licence and have access to a car daily. You will be responsible for the organisation of learner visits, assessment planning and liaising with the teaching team on learner progress. The position will also involve carrying out Health and Safety checks of proposed placements to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners. The ideal candidate will have an appropriate level 3 or 4 qualification along with Assessor qualifications and current knowledge of the area of work.
